About SIVZ

The mission of IVZ is "‘to provide solutions in the area of informationprovision and data-exchange in healthcare, welfare and social services".

History

IVZ already exists for more than 25 years and originated from addiction care. Commisioned by the government, IVZ monitors since the late eighties the requests for help within addiction care in the Netherlands. This monitor, the National Alcohol and Drugsinformationsystem (LADIS) is a national and international source for policy and research. From this expertise, knowledge and experience IVZ has broadened its working area to other parts of the Mental Health Services and healthcare.

From this wide range of knowledge and experience, IVZ has developed several innovatie IT-solutions that can be applied to a wide area in health care. IVZ was the first organisation to develop biometric identification in caresystems and apply it in practise. The knowledge and experience in the field of safe information-exchange, that meets the requirements of the legal framework, that originated from this, layed the foundation for the development of ZorgTTP. ZorgTTP is an idependent organisation since 2007 and has become the most important Trusted Third Party in healthcare in the Netherlands. IVZ has been involved in the development and support of the clinical audits developed by DICA. Based on these experiences IVZ is involved in the development of audit models for other medical professionals and institutions.

From registration to information

IVZ delivers products and services that provide support to generate information from care registrations.

IVZ is mainly active in the field of monitoring the quality of care for physicians, other health care providers, the provision of information in the addiction care and the exchange of information within and between sectors of care.

Organization

IVZ is an independent organization with a not-for-profit objective and an independent supervisisory board from the field of healthcare itself. Datasecurity has the highest priority. Provision of information (that can be traced back to an institution or provider of care) to third parties, only takes place with the consent of the data provider involved, all in accordance with rules agreed between parites concerned.
